ERPNext: How to copy & paste

Need to quickly import or duplicate line items in a Sales Order or any other document? Try this copy and paste shortcut!

Here's a quick tip if you need to create or duplicate a lot of items quickly in a table inside a document like a Sales Order or Quotation.


First you'll need them in a spreadsheet. So if you already have some items you want to duplicate, hit the Download button at the bottom-right of the items table. This will pop up a dialog to download a csv file with your existing data.


Double-click to open this up in Libreoffice (or Excel of you really must), and delete any irrelevant rows and columns so you end up with just the essential field name row and data you wish to import or duplicate, like below:



Next select the data and copy (CMD or CTRL + c).

Then, back in ERPNext, use the Add Row button, and in the left-most field, paste (CMD or CTRL + v).


A progress bar will appear and your data will be added as rows in the table.
